Perhaps you can start by selling a PDF EBook to your mom!

If you want to make money by writing concise, well-crafted articles and website text that you can be proud of then congratulations. You may be a genuine writer rather than just another wannabe gazillionaire who want to get rich quick without doing any work. Here's a mental high five for ploughing through this much crap to get this far.

I have a few bits of advice for you based on my own experiences as a writer starting a career on-line.
            • Don't spend hours crafting quality content for websites like Helium, Hubpages and Squidoo. They keep getting knobbled when Google changes its search algorithms and the money you make from them is chicken feed. There are people who make decent money on this sort of sites but if they sold their copy properly they would make a load more.
            • Never work for peanuts even when you are starting out. It is bad for your self-confidence and encourages shysters to trick new writers into working for nothing. Instead of knocking out articles for three dollars a pop, send out query letters to companies that pay proper money. One positive reply is worth far more than a whole week of slave-rates. Don't even get out of bed for less than ten dollars per 400 words and only accept that at the very start. Aim to be charging five times as much within a year.
            • Join Constant Content and read all their submission guidelines. Then read their submission guidelines again. Then submit an article. Wait for it to be reviewed (and probably rejected). Take on board all their comments if it is rejected. Constant Content are fussy and pedantic and demand very high standards of grammar, spelling and content. In fact, they are like most high-paying clients. If you can satisfy Constant Content's high standards and work out what sells for high prices on the site you are half way to being able to cut it as a freelance writer.

            Too lazy for Constant Content?

Try Ghostblogger: Slightly lower fees and less scrutiny than Constant Content, but still reasonable money for writing.

Create a Wordpress blog about something you know a load about. Use VigLink to seed it with subtle text ads, and get paid when people click on them.

Give Clickworker a try. If you can write sentences you can earn 25 dollars an hour by bashing out SEO filler. Not bad if you are having a bad day and can't think of anything better to do! Just do me a favour and write 10 euros worth before giving up. That way I get the lousy five euros commission for recruiting you!

Or save yourself all the hassle  and bother of having to do some real work and buy my PDF EBook called Click On This Link and Go Nowhere.
